A forest in the Coffey Swamp State Natural Area

Stewardship grant protects Coffey Swamp

The State Natural Area is home to a high-quality wet northern forest with mature white cedar and balsam fir.

The Door County Pulse reported today that Door County Land Trust is now protecting a newly acquired property on Washington Island in Door County that is part of the Coffey Swamp State Natural Area. The area is on the northern coast of Washington Island near the Lake Michigan shore.
