Stewardship funding talk, open houses set

Riveredge Nature Center will host a discussion on the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program and the future of land conservation funding in the state.

On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Riveredge Nature Center in Saukville will host a public discussion on the future of land conservation funding in Wisconsin. The event, held from 6:30–8:00 p.m., will feature Charlie Carlin of Gathering Waters, Tom Stolp of Restoring Lands, and Riveredge Executive Director John Rakowski.

The panel will explore the impacts of the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program, which funds parks, trails, and natural areas across the state. The program’s funding is set to expire in 2026, and lawmakers will soon decide whether to reauthorize it.
