Sheboygan County Organization to Receive Portion of DNR Stewardship Grant

The Friends of Kohler Andrae State Park received a Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Grant to improve their beach parking lots.

Seehafer News reported that Friends of Kohler Andrae State Park was one of 24 organizations around the state to have been selected to receive a portion of over $370,000 in Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program grants.

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources partners with Friends Groups and nonprofit conservation organizations that work to improve park facilities and restore habitat on state properties. Each year, $500,000 in Knowles-Nelson funds is budgeted to issue matching grants from the Friends Grant Program.

The Friends of Kohler Andrae State Park will be using their award for Phase III of the Beach Parking Lots Safety Path project at Sheboygan’s Kohler-Andrae State Park.
