The Racine Journal Times reported today that Racine County has proposed allocating $500,000 to support a major southeast Wisconsin Rails to Trails Project “that is part of the regional vision for the Route of the Badger trail network.”
The project has received $1 million from the state of Wisconsin’s Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program. This new allocation from Racine County is an essential step towards matching that state investment and making the project possible.
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos was present for the announcement of the new funding and also tweeted his support for the project.
