Point Beach State Forest unveils new playground equipment in playfield

New playground equipment at Point Beach State Forest was made possible by a Knowles-Nelson grant and support from the Friends of Point Beach State Forest.

A recent Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter story highlights a new playground at Point Beach State Forest in Two Rivers, which was made possible in part by a Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program grant and fundraising led by Friends of Point Beach State Forest. The project adds new play equipment to the park’s main playfield, giving families another reason to visit this popular Lake Michigan destination known for its campsites, beaches, and the historic Rawley Point Lighthouse.

Each year, $500,000 from the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program is set aside for grants to Friends Groups to improve recreation facilities, build new amenities, and restore habitat across Wisconsin’s state parks, forests, and trails.
